An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Costing Team, within the Finance Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, as Senior Costing Accountant on a Full time or Part time basis.
This role is key to the production, management and communication of costing data within the Trust which supports the Trust's operational teams and managers as well as the financial management team. The role will also support the Trust's submission to NHSE's annual National Cost Collection.
The role requires a high level of analytical skills and IT skills, previous NHS finance knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
The finance department has a strong culture of personal and professional development with a track record of developing team members to progress their career internally within the department. The department is accredited for training and CPD with CIMA, ACCA, and AAT and has recently achieved FFF level 2 accreditation.
Main duties of the job
The role will contribute to the Trust's annual comprehensive National Cost Collection (NCC) submission, be responsible forenhancing divisional understanding of their costs, providing educational sessions where necessary, and maintaining a suite of divisional reports to aid service improvements, redesign, efficiency and transformation.

The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing production of divisional reporting information, including Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring data is produced in an accurate and timely manner and the outputs are embedded within the Trust's financial reporting structures.
The role works closely with an information analyst and is responsible for ensuring that data received is in the required format, with acceptable data quality, and successfully imports into the Trust's Costing System.
