Our Development Consultancy Work
We are currently working on a diverse and interesting range of development consultancy instructions, covering a number of different sectors and projects including large-scale town and city centre regeneration, soft market engagement with developers, investors and RPs, funding and delivery strategies, grant funding applications and enabling work to support affordable housing delivery. This work is suited to town planners and surveying professionals and particularly those with strong written, communication and organisational skills.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have the majority of the qualifications, experience and attributes we set out below.
Responsibilities
As part of Hive's Development Consultancy team, you will work on a diverse range of high‑profile, residential‑led regeneration and housing delivery projects across the public and private sectors.
Responsibilities will typically include:
* Supporting development consultancy commissions across town and city centre regeneration, large-scale residential sites, and strategic growth locations
* Advising public and private sector clients on delivery strategies, funding, viability, and de-risking complex development projects
* Working collaboratively with local authorities, developers, registered providers, consultants and stakeholders to unlock and accelerate housing delivery
* Preparing high-quality written outputs including reports, funding bids, business cases and strategy documents
* Supporting soft market engagement with developers, investors and registered providers
* Assisting with grant funding applications and enabling work to support affordable housing delivery
* Contributing to project management, coordination of consultant teams and programme delivery
* Playing an active role within Hive's collaborative team culture, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
* Helping to shape Hive's growing consultancy offer, with opportunities to get involved in new growth areas and wider business development activity
(Responsibility level will be tailored to experience, with greater autonomy and leadership expected at Senior level.)
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the majority of the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
* A degree (and/or postgraduate qualification) in Planning, Surveying, Housing or a related discipline
* RTPI or RICS accreditation preferred
* Strong written, verbal and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports
* A confident, personable communicator who can work effectively with clients and project teams
* A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong work ethic
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines effectively
* A growth mindset, with enthusiasm to learn, innovate and take on responsibility
* An entrepreneurial attitude and interest in regeneration, housing delivery and the public sector
* Strong IT skills and confidence working across common digital platforms
