Site MSAT Lead
This is a site-based role in Irvine, Scotland.
As the Site MSAT Lead at Irvine, you will be responsible for leading the Site Technical function, including Product Owners, Process Engineering, and Chemists. You’ll ensure all Technical aspects of the Product Lifecycle on site, focusing on improving performance, delivery, capability, and talent to help the site meet its ambitious goals. As a key member of the SLT (Site Leadership Team), you will also contribute to strategic planning and execution of critical projects aligned with the GSK 2030 strategy.
This will include the introduction of new microbial strains, data analytics, and technology transfer to drive the current process improvement strategy on our existing processes. In this role, you and your team will help to significantly shape the future of GSK Irvine and its role within the wider company.
This role requires crucial partnerships with external teams and with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Quality. It focuses on business growth and how to best deliver this growth. You will have an opportunity to make a long-standing and important contribution to the future state of GSK.
GSK Irvine is a global site supplying Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for key antibiotic brands in the General Medicine portfolio. In this role, you will:
1. Own the core technical business processes for the site: Product Lifecycle Management (Technical Risk Assessment, Product Control Strategies, Continued Process Verification, Process Robustness Assessment), Strains Development and Introduction, Change Control, and Risk Management.
2. Provide matrix leadership across Technical, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Logistics to support product control strategy translation to the shop floor, utilizing the principles of the GSK Production System (GPS).
3. Ensure technical governance across the Product Lifecycle, including Product Performance at Site, Supply Chain Quality Councils, Technical Review Board, Product Technical Review Team, Capital Expenditure, EHS, Site Impact Assessment, and Change Control.
4. Provide technical leadership for rapid resolution of technical issues impacting supply and product performance, using root cause analysis (RCA) tools and appropriate CAPA, escalating key issues to the wider technical community for timely resolution.
5. Be accountable for on-time and first-time-right delivery of technical aspects of NPI and Value Engineering projects.
6. Champion Site Safety and Quality Compliance as part of the Leadership team.

Why You?
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in a Scientific or Engineering discipline.
* Leadership experience, leading technical teams and delivering solutions in Manufacturing or at R&D/Manufacturing interface.
* Strong stakeholder management and influence skills at site and wider business levels.
* Experience in Project Management, especially major technical or capital projects.
* Thorough knowledge of GMP and Regulatory requirements.
* Experience using data to drive decision-making.
* Experience with Quality by Design, FMEA, RCA, and technical risk assessments.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
* Masters or PhD in a relevant discipline.
* Engineering Chartership.
* Proven ability to enable and drive change, develop people, and build relationships in a matrix environment.
* Experience in Operational, Engineering, and Technical roles.
* Experience in supply chain or external networks is beneficial.
