About the opportunity
As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.
Working within the healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your tasks will include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions. Every day, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference.
Key responsibilities:
1. Prescription dispensing while ensuring the safe supply of medicines, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
7. Working with evolving technologies to improve dispensing processes, enhance patient safety, and free up more time for patient interaction.
You will receive regular training to develop your healthcare knowledge and have opportunities for career progression, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.
What you’ll need to have:
* Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).
It would be great if you also have:
* Experience working in community pharmacy.
