An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Management Specialist to work as part of the Contract Management Centre of Excellence in our Operate Function, reporting to the UK Head of Contract Management. The Operate Function is charged with delivering best in class processes and services to Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in the UK, of which Contract Management is an important component. The Contract Management Specialist reports to the Head of Contract Management and plays a crucial role in managing the most critical supplier contracts that support business activity at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. The purpose of this role is to ensure the delivery of full value from supplier contractual relationships and to ensure the fulfilment of contractual objectives and the realisation of business value. This role acts as a vital enabler for our business and will be independently responsible for the management of contractual agreements throughout the contract lifecycle, focussing most heavily on the contract delivery stage. This role is responsible for developing new standards of Contract Management in terms of the management of risk, financials, contract performance and compliance. It will help to shape Contract Management capability in the organisation, taking into account the changing external landscape and regulatory requirements. This role will optimise processes to improve the experience of internal stakeholders and will collaborate closely with internal customers to champion best practice in Contract Management. Key Responsibilities: Build a deep understanding of the critical contracts the UK Operating Company holds. Internal stakeholders: support the internal business owner on how to deliver effective contract management through the lifecycle of the contracting activity: identification of business need; creation of the commercial and contracting model; management of obligations through the term; termination, exit or extension. Build strong and effective relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to the business and influencing effectively to ensure that the importance of Contract Management is well understood and well developed as a competency in the organisation. Managing suppliers: work with the Procurement organisation to ensure the end-to-end process from identification of a business need; to selection of a supplier; to the delivery of contract obligations; to termination, exit or extension of a contract; is well managed. Build strong relationships with critical suppliers, effectively managing the performance of contracts and ensuring the delivery of value throughout the supplier relationship lifecycle. Run supplier performance reviews with critical suppliers, using a structured approach to preparation and ensuring reviews are efficient and effective in supporting the delivery of business value. Support business stakeholders in interpreting and understanding contracts and ensuring that all obligations set out in critical contracts are met. Run a monthly reporting and data collation process to evaluate stakeholder views of the most critical suppliers, creating reports for senior leadership which are insightful and deliver impact. Ensure contracts are executed in a compliant and effective way, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ensuring accurate risk management and mitigation strategies are implemented where appropriate. Work closely with internal customers, such as legal, finance, and procurement teams, to ensure seamless contract execution and compliance. Monitor contractual performance, including deliverables, milestones, and service levels, and provide timely status updates to relevant partners. Identify any supplier performance issues and work with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and deliver improvement plans as required. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against agreed metrics and key performance indicators. Identify areas of improvement and potential risks for Contract Management and champion a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing by creating a community of best practice in Contract Management within the organisation. Help to build a Centre of Excellence in Contract Management, supporting the creation of training programmes in Contract Management in order to develop and embed best practices across the organisation.
