We support schools across the Wakefield area who are looking for confident, compassionate Behaviour Support Workers to join their teams. You’ll be working with pupils who need a bit of extra guidance, structure, and encouragement to thrive in school life.
What you’ll be doing
1. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis to help them regulate, refocus, and re-engage with learning
2. Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches to create safe, calm spaces
3. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams to put effective support plans in place
4. Helping pupils develop confidence, routines, and classroom-ready behaviours
5. Building trusting, respectful relationships that make school feel like a safe and supportive place
Who this role suits
6. People with experience in youth work, care, sports coaching, or SEND support
7. Graduates interested in psychology, criminology, education, or social care
8. Support staff looking for a new challenge in a pastoral or behaviour role
