We are working closely with St. Helens MBC to assist with the appointment of a Transport Monitoring Officer, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.32 - £18.72 per hour

Summary:

The Transport Monitoring Officer will provide technical and strategic support to the Transport Service, ensuring effective performance monitoring, compliance management, and operational reporting. The role involves collecting, analysing, and interpreting transport-related data, developing and maintaining management control systems, supporting statutory compliance activities, and contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical and operational support across Transport Services and undertake duties allocated through service work programmes.
* Produce accurate and timely management information to support service planning, performance monitoring, and budget management.
* Develop, implement, and maintain management control systems relating to MOT reconciliation, statutory inspections, driver hours monitoring, fuel card usage, driving licence inspections, and other transport compliance requirements.
* Analyse and interpret operational and performance data, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
* Manage, monitor, and maintain transport service databases, ensuring the provision of accurate reports and performance information.
* Liaise with internal departments including Recycling & Waste, Streetscene, Civil Engineering, and other stakeholders to support service efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualification:

* GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.

Essentials:

* Experience analysing, interpreting, and presenting operational performance data.
* Experience producing management reports and maintaining performance monitoring systems.
* Strong knowledge of compliance monitoring, inspections, and operational control processes.
* Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and management information systems.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools.
