Job Description:
Ocean Winds is seeking a Foundations Asset Integrity Engineer to report to the Head of Asset Integrity. The role involves supporting operational projects within Ocean Winds' portfolio, requiring strong experience in structural design and analysis, preferably with a civil, mechanical, or structural engineering background. Candidates should have familiarity with engineering design codes and standards, and work from first principles based on a solid theoretical understanding. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative design solutions are essential. Experience with fixed and/or floating offshore structures, such as offshore wind turbine substructures or offshore oil & gas structures, is highly desirable, though offshore wind experience is not mandatory.
The responsibilities include supporting the Asset Integrity Lead, liaising with the site-based O&M team, leading foundation integrity monitoring activities, conducting root cause analyses, utilizing data analysis tools, developing operational procedures, engaging with technical consultants, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with consenting obligations, and engaging with external stakeholders.
Minimum academic and professional requirements include a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, at least 3 years of experience with offshore foundations, and desirable professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer status. Knowledge areas required include root cause investigation, impact of operational conditions on asset integrity, risk-based integrity management, standards and certification for offshore structures, and subsea inspection techniques. Knowledge of risk analysis, construction and service contracts, and planning and consenting processes is advantageous.
The working language is English; proficiency in additional languages is valued. The position is based in Edinburgh or Buckie, with travel to offshore sites and facilities as needed.
