Van Driver / Porter
Location: Holywell Hospital Site
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 4:15pm
Rate of Pay: £12.51 per hour
3 months initially working 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Van Driver / Porter to support essential transport and delivery services across hospital and community locations. This role is key to ensuring the safe, timely movement of equipment, supplies, and materials that support frontline services.
You will work as part of a professional transport team, carrying out a variety of driving and portering duties while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transport pharmacy items, sterile equipment, and internal/external mail between hospital and community sites
2. Deliver and collect equipment and supplies efficiently and securely
3. Assist with the movement, loading, and unloading of items, including office furniture and equipment
4. Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance (fuel, oil, tyres, cleanliness)
5. Complete delivery, mileage, and vehicle usage records accurately
6. Ensure all goods are handled with care and delivered on time
7. Operate tail lifts where required (training provided)
8. Report any vehicle defects or issues promptly
9. Follow all health & safety, infection control, and operational procedures
What We’re Looking For
10. Full UK driving licence (Category B), valid for use in the UK
11. Experience in multi‑drop delivery or driving roles
12. A responsible, safety‑focused approach to driving
13. Good time‑management and organisational skills
14. Ability to carry out manual handling duties
15. Professional and courteous manner when dealing with staff and service users
16. Willingness to undertake a driving assessment

17. Monday to Friday working pattern – no weekends
18. Based at Holywell Hospital Site
19. Pre‑employment health assessment required
20. Six‑month probationary period applies
