We are seeking a Clinical Scientist to join our Radiotherapy Physics team as a Senior Radiotherapy Physicist leading on Stereo & Imaging.
The Oncology department is a well-equipped center serving patients across East London and Essex, committed to adopting the latest treatment techniques and equipment. External beam radiotherapy is delivered using Varian Halcyon, Edge, and Ethos linacs.
The department was the first in the country to treat patients on Halcyon and with online adaptive radiotherapy on Ethos. The Edge machine is our primary stereotactic device, featuring high-definition MLC, 4D-CBCT, 6 DoF couch, and HyperArc capabilities. Treatment planning is conducted on Eclipse 17 (with RapidPlan and MCO licenses) and Ethos, with auto-contouring on Limbus. We support a wide range of clinical trials and utilize advanced QA devices and software. Recent upgrades include a Siemens go.Sim CT scanner, HyperSight on Ethos, and Identify SGRT on all linacs. We are about to launch an SRS service in partnership with Barts Hospital. Our current SABR treatments include lung, bone (non-spine), nodes, adrenal nodes, and spine. A full linac refresh is scheduled for 2027.
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dom Withers at dom.withers@nhs.net.
The successful candidate will oversee imaging and stereotactic services within Radiotherapy Physics, including equipment commissioning, image optimization, and management of stereotactic treatment techniques.
