About The Role
As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to those individuals.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining a high standard of order and tidiness within the laundry area. You will ensure our residents’ clothing looks and feels great by washing, drying, ironing, and repairing items as needed. You will also maintain linen stocks for daily use and raise any issues with the Senior Housekeeper. The environment you create will reflect your attention to detail and commitment to safety and comfort.
Whether folding and separating linen and clothes for return to rooms or redistributing clothing to the correct rooms, your work will be guided by kindness. You will take pride in ensuring your work is of the highest standard, contributing to a well-maintained environment that helps our residents live longer, happier, and healthier lives.
We’re seeking someone with experience, although full training will be provided. Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. Beyond that, your positive energy and natural ability to connect with people are vital. You should be a great communicator, skilled at listening and giving instructions, and always considerate and kind when interacting with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also feel confident in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to a wide range of benefits supporting your physical and mental well-being. Throughout your career with us, we will invest in your development and offer additional support, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check.
* Free uniform.
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
