Fletchers Group has a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team. We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to shape and drive a robust compliance culture within a growing legal services group, safeguarding regulatory standards and supporting strategic plans. Reporting directly to the Director of Compliance and working closely with the Chief Legal Officer, this is a high-impact leadership role to influence business-wide compliance strategy, lead and develop a team, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation. You will support growth through mergers & acquisitions and ensure systems, processes and people uphold high standards of ethical and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities
* Strategy & Leadership: Lead the compliance function and support ELT/SLT on legal and compliance matters to deliver Fletchers’ strategy.
* M&A: Collaborate with ELT, CLO, Director of Compliance, and M&A leadership on regulatory aspects of transactions.
* Cross-functional support: Provide input on key projects including Legal Transformation, Legal Strategy, and Legal Operations.
* Compliance enablement: Ensure business facilitation is safe and compliant; work with Learning & Development on role-relevant training.
* People management: Lead and develop the compliance team and junior staff.
* Process and systems: Review and improve case intake, processes, and systems to ensure compliance from the start of engagements.
* Regulatory: Maintain expertise in SRA, FCA, ICO, GDPR, LASPO, and related legislation; advise on policies and regulatory changes.
* Policy drafting: Draft and update policies and procedures to meet statutory/regulatory obligations.
* Stakeholder liaison: Coordinate with business units on regulatory changes and their implementation.
* Risk management: Report risk and compliance issues to CLO/Risk Team monthly; manage relationships with professional indemnity insurers and claims handling.
* KPIs and reporting: Deliver key compliance KPIs alongside project KPIs and report to senior leadership on day-to-day risk matters.
* Culture and ethics: Act as a champion for good legal practice and a positive compliance culture across the business.

* Coaching and development experience; role-model leadership
* Technology literacy to enhance legal services
* Strong analytical skills
Desirable Skills And Experience
* Ideally qualified as a Solicitor or a CILEX Lawyer
