Job Title: Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist – Charing Cross Hospital Banding: Band 6 Location: Charing Cross Hospital, London Start Date: ASAP Rate: £24.00–£27.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered Duration: 3 months (potential to extend) Job Overview Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join an adult acute care team at Charing Cross Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled clinician to work across the Hyperacute and Acute Units, providing essential care to patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. This role is best suited to a therapist with previous acute inpatient experience, who can work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. You'll be working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing to high-quality patient care in a well-established NHS trust. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Independently assess, diagnose, and manage adult inpatients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Deliver high-quality interventions, prioritising patient safety and recovery across acute and hyperacute wards. Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure joined-up care. Maintain up-to-date clinical records in line with trust and professional guidelines. Participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and discharge planning where appropriate. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership. RCSLT Dysphagia Competencies Level C (or equivalent). Proven experience in an acute hospital setting.
