If so, this is a compelling opportunity to take ownership of a major region within BSS.

About the Role

As Regional Director for Scotland and the North of England, you will have full accountability for the performance of a large, multi site operation operating in challenging but opportunity rich market conditions. The region benefits from strong operational foundations, with a clear opportunity to accelerate sales performance and deepen customer relationships.

You will lead 13 branches across the region, with direct line management of Branch Managers and a Sales Director. Overall responsibility spans approximately 190 direct and indirect colleagues and annual turnover in excess of £120m. Reporting to Josie Crowe, Managing Director, you will play a key role within the senior leadership team, shaping regional strategy and driving execution in line with wider business priorities.

Locations Covered: Scotland: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow

North England: Carlisle, Newcastle, Stockton, Manchester, Preston, Liverpool, Wirral, Leeds, Sheffield

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide visible, inclusive leadership across the region, setting clear expectations and embedding a high performance culture

2. Own regional P&L performance, developing and delivering robust business plans aligned to local market opportunities

3. Drive sales growth through strong customer engagement, effective sales leadership, and branch led commercial strategies

4. Maintain and enhance high standards of operational excellence, with an uncompromising focus on safety and compliance

5. Develop talent through coaching, succession planning, and strengthening internal leadership pipelines

6. Champion diversity and inclusion, ensuring all colleagues feel supported, valued, and able to perform at their best

7. A proven senior leader with experience leading complex, multi site operations with scale similar to ours

8. Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving sales performance in competitive or challenging markets

9. An engaging, credible people leader who coaches, develops, and holds teams to account

10. The confidence and resilience to lead through change while maintaining momentum and engagement

11. You'll be based on patch, showing a visible presence to all branches in your remit
