The role will be in the new North and South Cornwall Coasts Group, which covers much of the eastern half of Cornwall from just west of Newquay on the north coast and the Roseland peninsula on the south coast to the Devon border. A lot of our focus is on our coastal assets and the wider areas they form part of and the communities they serve. Our main Trust strategic focus will be restoring nature. There will be four geographically based ranger teams and the Old Post Office in Tintagel. There is significant work with third parties carrying out activities and delivering experiences on our land, which includes licensing. The role is advertised as being at Lanhydrock, near Bodmin, which is central to the new Group but there are other bases on the north and south coasts where the successful applicant could potentially be based. You’ll lead on community engagement and volunteering across your portfolio, putting people at the heart of our plans. You’ll build partnerships; create inclusive volunteering experiences; engage communities with our work (including elements of communications and programming); and support community-led activities that help us restore nature and heritage. You’ll coach colleagues, embed best practice, and ensure systems and data are well managed. You’ll work to remove barriers to access, making sure underrepresented voices are heard and involved. Using insight and relationships, you’ll help shape strategic decisions and test new approaches to participation—connecting people with places and creating lasting public benefit.The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
