Overview
Do you want to turn your passion for engineering and science into a rewarding career? Our 3.5 year apprenticeship gives you practical experience in inspecting materials, welds, components and plant to ensure the Royal Navys fleet is ready for any mission.
Responsibilities
* Inspect components using ultrasonics, radiography, infrared thermography and other NDT methods.
* Prepare NDT procedures, technique sheets and work instructions for by NDT operators.
* Apply scientific principles to identify flaws obscured by structural or volumetric features that are not necessarily visible on the surface.
* Use materials, equipment, tools, processes and products relating to NDT.
* Use technical literature, codes of practice and industry standards.
Qualifications
* At least 5 GCSEs at grade C/5 including English, Maths and Science/Technology.
* Valid passport or provisional/full UK driving licence.
* Ability to achieve BPSS and SC clearance.
* Work towards Level 3 Non‑Destructive Technologies Technician Apprenticeship standard.
