This position has been classed as anywhere worker roles but has an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office, in Chelmsford, approximately 1 day per week, with the remaining time allowing for remote working if desired.

The Opportunity
The new Wellbeing and Public Health Officer role plays a very important part within the Wellbeing Public Health and Communities Team, supporting the delivery of the Public Health business plan.
The post holder will work flexibly across the Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities team to ensure we meet our ambitions for Essex residents to live healthier and more fulfilling lives - no matter their age, background, or current circumstances. This includes, for example the successful delivery of priority projects aimed at building resilient and active communities and helping equip people to make healthier lifestyle choices.
The postholder will lead on project planning and delivery. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that priority projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget - whilst also ensuring that key public health principles such as assessment of need, reviewing evidence, engaging citizens and evaluation are met.
Accountabilities
1. Collaborate with team members to clearly define projects, plan timelines, identify risks, map, and engage stakeholders.
2. Support the practical delivery of priority projects through leading on a range of activities such as organising meetings, taking, and monitoring actions, producing minutes of meetings, drafting project documents and presentations, arranging stakeholder workshops, and producing action plans.
3. Co-ordinating team members, experts, and external stakeholders to ensure that actions are progressed, and necessary work delivered in a timely fashion.
4. Monitoring the performance of projects to ensure they are on track to be delivered on time and to cost as well as delivering desired outcomes.
5. Work in collaboration with partner organisations to deliver integrated activity and highlight any further opportunities and efficiencies that can achieved.
6. Support the delivery of specific projects and activities that further the continuous improvement ethos of high performing, sustainable and cost-effective services or place shaping activities and develop cross functional links.
7. Supports the development of, and use, of a range of tools and techniques that ensure activity is consistent, effective, and efficient and that an audit trail is maintained.
The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
8. Experience of successfully leading multiple projects delivered on time and to budget.
9. Evidence of experience working in collaboration with community partners to improve health outcomes for residents
10. Recent work experience within Public Health or related activity service / function area, including project experience.
11. Experience of working in a complex partnership environment with Local Authorities and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector organisations to deliver positive health and wellbeing outcomes
Desirable:
12. Experience of monitoring financial information in relation to Grants, contracting and commissioning.
13. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
14. Evidence of working well with others across a range of different projects.
15. Experience of working in the public sector or large complex organisations.
Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
