Interim Senior Legal Counsel – 12-Month Contract
A leading organisation in the UK’s transport and infrastructure sector, operating a network of strategic assets essential to the nation’s trade and supply chains, is seeking an Interim Senior Legal Counsel for a 12-month assignment.
This hire is driven by a recent departure and an upcoming maternity leave. The organisation needs a senior lawyer to provide robust, commercially focused legal advice and manage risk across a broad range of matters.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
1. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (including warehousing, leasing, supplier & procurement, infrastructure and construction, energy supply agreements).
2. Advise on legislation impacting the business, including changes in UK and EU law.
3. Provide legal input on health & safety, environment, employment (including TUPE), marine, and commercial discussions (including potential M&A).
4. Manage disputes and oversee external counsel, ensuring cost control and quality advice.
5. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.
6. Support legal training initiatives and maintain legal precedents.
