As a Chemistry Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential) Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations Assess, track, and monitor student progress effectively Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development Work collaboratively with science colleagues and support staff Communicate effectively with parents and carers Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Have strong subject knowledge in Chemistry Have experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level Be enthusiastic, organised, and reflective in their teaching practice Have excellent classroom management skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing Be a collaborative team player The school is located in Derby, with good transport links and a supportive community.
