About You:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Experience of working with children and their families of the relevant age in a learning environment.
* Experience working in an education setting.
* Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge and understanding of education in relation to school attendance, children’s right to education, and relevant legislation.
* Ability to create inspiring, targeted pupil support plans based on individual needs to improve attendance and academic progress.
What the school offers its staff
Truro and Penwith Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an Education Welfare Officer to ensure all schools adhere to the Trust’s tiered response to pupils with poor attendance. The role involves providing direct support to headteachers and pastoral teams to address barriers to attendance through the development of pupil support plans and statutory interventions. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential to build effective relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
