Our accountancy practice client is recruiting for an ambitious Part Qualified Audit Trainee to join the team at the firm's Hayes office. This is a very successful firm experiencing continued growth and expansion, looking to build the team with an ACA part-qualified individual.

The role provides career progression and the opportunity to gain experience across various accountancy disciplines, working with a diverse range of client types, from sole traders to medium and large businesses. The role is primarily audit-focused but also offers exposure to broader business advisory work.


Responsibilities of the Part Qualified Audit Trainee

1. Conduct audit, accounts, and related tax assignments for clients.
2. Perform on-site audits at client offices.
3. Prepare unincorporated or company accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standards, SORP, and legal requirements.
4. Draft basic corporation tax computations.
5. Assist in managing client expectations and deadlines.
6. Support in drafting recommendations to management after completing audit fieldwork.
7. Collaborate with other trainees to deliver assignments and support their development.
8. Attend client meetings with Managers or Partners.
9. Participate in client gatherings or seminars as needed and pursue areas of interest.
10. Process client accounting information accurately using relevant software.
11. Assist the team with ad hoc duties to ensure smooth project delivery.
12. Support administrative tasks such as client greeting, filing, query resolution, and deadline management.
13. Assist in drafting close-out audit meeting agendas and discussion points.

You will work directly with Partners, Directors, and Managers, providing client-focused and commercially aware services professionally. Additionally, you will promote and market the firm’s services to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones, across various sectors.


Candidate Requirements

1. Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, having completed at least all certificate level papers with no more than three failures, or AAT Level 4 qualified.
2. At least 1 year of audit experience within a UK accountancy practice is mandatory; experience in accounts and tax is desirable.
3. Technical competence with a clear understanding of audit testing and approach across sectors.
4. Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
5. Experience with Pro-audit, CaseWare, CCH Accounts Production, Xero, QuickBooks, Alphatax, Office 365 is desirable.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
