Overview
Our client is an acquisitive investment group that is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are looking to hire a driven and technically-strong accountant to support their CFO as Financial Controller.
Description
Our client is a listed investment group that specialises in the acquisition and development of SMEs in the British engineering and industrial sectors. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will manage a small team and be responsible for financial control, accounting, and reporting across the business. Your key responsibilities will include managing the year-end audit process according to IFRS, maintaining full accounting records, leading the production of the monthly/ quarterly consolidated financial statements and board pack, co-ordinating the preparation of the budget, developing internal controls, and liaising with the external auditors.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/CA or equivalent) with strong audit experience and recent exposure to group accounts, ideally within the finance function of a listed business. Financial reporting and accounting experience is important, alongside a strong understanding of IFRS. Strong team leadership and technical accounting skills are absolute prerequisites.
