Are you a B6 Occupational Therapist who wants to develop your skills and experience working with people with Complex Psychosis in the Norwich, North and South Norfolk area? You would be working in our Rehabilitation for Complex Psychosis community mental health team based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich.
We are a multi-agency team based at Hellesdon Hospital, specialising in creative engagement, person-centred working and supporting people who face many challenges in their daily life toward recovery. The team includes social workers from Norfolk County Council, Recovery workers and Peer support workers from Together, Substance Misuse Practitioners from Change Grow Live, as well as Occupational Therapists, Medical staff, Nursing staff, Administrators, Physician Associate and Psychologists employed by NSFT.
You will have supervision from a Clinical Lead AHP (Occupational Therapist) in a multidisciplinary team including a dedicated Occupational Therapist, Community Mental Health Nurses, Peer Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, CGL and Social Workers. This is a clinically focused post with emphasis on high-quality clinical care provision and outcomes. We work with people in their own homes, residential care and supported living settings as well as, on occasion, in-reaching to people who are in a mental health hospital bed.
This is a team which strongly values the unique contribution of Occupational Therapy alongside our other disciplines. We see Occupational Therapy as pivotal in helping service users identify and overcome barriers to living the lives they want to live. The caseload-holding role offers opportunities to maintain core skills, such as low caseloads, supervision with an AHP lead, development networks, hosting OT students, and support to undertake OT-specific assessments and treatments.
The team’s groupwork programme features a weekly active group, with plans to expand to include additional meaningful activities of interest to our service users. Supervision, professional development and staff welfare are important to the service, with time and support available to engage in these roles. A range of CPD opportunities can be explored depending on your career pathway. The wider trust supports you through AHP networks and training in assessment tools and workstreams to enhance AHP services.
