An iconic public sector organisation is recruiting for a Head of Procurement Business Partnering on an interim basis for a 6-month initial contract.
This role offers a day rate of £700 - £800 per day inside IR35 (umbrella). It includes hybrid working with 3 days on-site per week.
About the Role
Lead the Commercial Leads team and drive excellence across procurement operations. Focus on developing category strategies, stakeholder engagement, and embedding responsible procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of Commercial Leads, fostering high performance and collaboration.
* Develop and implement pipeline and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Create dashboard reporting tools for stakeholders to support data-driven decisions.
* Strengthen business partnering through stakeholder engagement plans.
* Review and improve category boards for better governance and strategic alignment.
* Build a comprehensive Commercial Service reporting framework.
* Design and deliver team capability development plans.
* Lead market engagement and shaping activities, providing coaching and guidance.
* Embed Responsible Procurement principles into systems and processes.
Person Specification
* Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, with a proven record of cost savings, value creation, and innovation.
* Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders in complex environments.
* Deep understanding of supplier market dynamics, contract negotiation, and risk management.
* Success in leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives aligned with business needs.
* Strong analytical and commercial skills, capable of interpreting data and market trends.
* Professional qualifications such as MCIPS, MBA, or equivalent, with a background in procurement or supply chain.
* Good knowledge of Public Procurement regulations and compliance.
