About the Role The Single Aisle Plant Engineering Team (PET) are preparing for Single Aisle rate ramp up and are appointing an Engineering Delivery Team Leader responsible for delivering engineering support to the Single Aisle program. Part of the Delivery Team Leaders role will also be to support the Single Aisle rate ramp up and the industrial vision for Broughton Plant. The successful applicant will develop a high quality build support team who will be required to support the future West Factory Single Aisle production line, in readiness for first build. During the commissioning of the production line the successful candidate will provide influential engineering support to help ensure the industrial system is optimised wherever possible within the current design philosophy. The team's function is to provide reactive and proactive engineering support to the Single Aisle Component Delivery Team’s (CDT) to ensure the achievement of their business objectives, whilst identifying opportunities to optimise the design and industrial system. You will become a key part of the SA PET Leadership team delivering the SA strategy and supporting Rate 75. The role will provide an excellent opportunity for a committed person to develop their technical and leadership skills in a positive and supportive team environment. How you will contribute to the Role Lead the team through the best standard of performances, focusing on engagement & wellbeing, and supporting the skills team with people development by providing continued support, either directly or indirectly, and facilitating development opportunities Delivery of key engineering support to SA Rate 75 activities with clearly defined financial and resource requirements. Tactical and strategic plan for Single Aisle PET workload planning to ensure readiness for the Single Aisle rate ramp up. Act as the link between Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring co-design solutions which are suitable for the industrial system whilst maintaining an engineering and most important customer perspective. Support the design definition and communicate the industrial requirements into the wider engineering community. Provide proactive product improvement which supports modifications to reduce Recurring Costs, Non-Recurring Costs and Non-Conformances throughout the SA value stream. Provide ‘lineside’ build support and act as the focal point for any Engineering topics within the Wing departments, including root cause analysis investigations into all abnormalities arising from design queries. Support and/or lead initiatives to further enhance team efficiency and effectiveness through application of methods, tools, processes and/or other capability improvements Drive team governance and achievement of goals (e.g. SQCDP, R&O, task drumbeats, support Performance and Development Reviews with the skills teams, engage with Export Control compliance etc,) About You Motivated and self-driven with the ability to work autonomously when required, whilst being a strong team player with extensive management experience in an Aerospace / Engineering Manufacturing Environment. Deliver reliably on time, cost and quality whilst embracing change and challenge when appropriate. Understand and synthesise multiple complex engineering activities, simplify and communicate them clearly, on a timely basis, to all stakeholders as needed. Innovative mindset, able to think freely with a degree of curiosity to explore new or alternative ideas and approaches.
