Streetworks Coordinator

Rate: £28–£32 per hour (Umbrella)
Start Date: 23/02/2026
Contract Duration: Until 17/07/2026
Hours: 40 hours per week
The Opportunity
Morson Edge is looking for an experienced Streetworks Coordinator to join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor on a contract basis in St Albans.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a Regional Street Works team supporting major infrastructure schemes and ensuring full compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
Key Responsibilities
Issue and manage Streetworks permits via the Street Manager system through to completion
Ensure works are compliant with NRSWA legislation and permit conditions
Coordinate Section 50 licences
Liaise with Local Authorities and third parties regarding road closures, parking suspensions and related requirements
Analyse and respond to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Section 74 charges
Maintain accurate schedules and programme interfaces
Respond to Highway Authority comments and modification requests
Support reporting, KPIs, audits and project review meetings
Requirements
Essential:
Strong working knowledge of NRSWA
Experience managing Streetworks permits within utilities or civil engineering
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Confident communicator experienced in liaising with Project Managers and Local Authorities
Desirable:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
