Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Bay Area / Orange County, CA

Job Description:

Position Overview: The Sales Hunter will be responsible for driving new business growth and expanding the customer base in the West Coast region for an engineering services provider headquartered in Detroit, MI. This role involves proactive prospecting, building relationships with key stakeholders, and delivering tailored solutions that align with the company's expertise. The role demands a strong understanding of engineering services and the ability to achieve aggressive sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:

* Business Development and Prospecting: Identify, target, and secure new clients across the West Coast, focusing on automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. Build a robust pipeline by researching potential customers, utilizing networking opportunities, and leveraging industry connections with decision-makers such as CTOs, Engineering Heads, Procurement Leaders, and C-Suite executives to pitch value propositions.
* Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with prospects, conducting in-depth needs assessments to understand client challenges and align with our value proposition. Serve as the primary point of contact during the sales cycle and coordinate with internal practice and delivery teams.
* Sales Strategy and Execution: Collaborate with HQ to implement sales strategies specific to the West Coast market, providing insights on regional trends and the competitive landscape. Work with internal teams to create proposals, presentations, and solutions tailored to client needs, aiming to meet or exceed revenue targets.
* Market Intelligence and Reporting: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market opportunities within the region. Provide feedback to refine offerings and maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales in CRM (SFDC). Prepare regular sales reports and participate in strategic planning.


Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
* 10+ years of sales or business development experience in engineering services or related fields.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets as a 'hunter'.
* Strong understanding of engineering services, including design and development solutions.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Motivated, proactive, with high initiative, and willing to travel extensively within the West Coast.


Key Metrics for Success:

* New business revenue generated.
* Number of qualified leads and closed deals.
* Market share growth within the West Coast.
* Customer satisfaction and contribution to overall company growth.
