The TaxAssist Accountants team in Plymouth are highly successful, working across two offices and serving the needs of around 600 clients.
We specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, tax savings, and tax advice to our clients - Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies and Personal Taxpayers. We have established processes in place, along with access to excellent ongoing training and technical support in all aspects of the role. Our team use up to date cloud based technology, and our clients are similarly well advanced on the route to full cloud adoption.
We are part of the wider TaxAssist Accountants network too - now serving 80,000 + customers nationally. As a locally based team with the support of a large network behind us, we find ourselves in a great place and it works fantastically well. Locally, we can get on with the business of helping our clients, safe in the knowledge that help when needed is just a phone call or email away from our support team at Head Office.
The Plymouth team place a significant local focus on career opportunity and development, with all team members encouraged to make the most of paid study support, internal training and training delivered by the national TaxAssist Training Academy too. We are now looking for an Accounts Senior to join our ever growing practice.
Role Responsibilities
Building relationships with clients and being a first port of call for queries
Preparation and Review of financial statements for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
Preparation and review of Corporate and Personal Tax Returns
-Provision of client-focused support including client meetings
Preparation and review of VAT returns
Provide mentoring support to other team members
Varied ad hoc projects and other duties building your experience and knowledge
Delivering outstanding service to our customers!
Your Experience
Ideally, a minimum of two years experience in a similar role in an Accountancy Practice environment. Pay and Benefits Salary: £28,000 to £40,000 per year

What we are looking for
First and foremost, you must have a “can do” attitude and be able to work independently with appropriate support. You should be proactive, with a problem-solving attitude. You will be confident in engaging with clients to build a rapport and offer solutions and direction.
Practice based experience is preferred. However we do have a track record of training those with industry experience and helping them through to become great client managers. Wherever you experience is from, you will have a core understanding of accounting and be competent in the preparation of Financial Accounts for small companies. Please note this is not a trainee accountant position however.
