Job Summary
Are you an experienced and compassionate Cognitive‑Behavioural Therapist who is passionate about supporting women, their babies and families? We offer a rare opportunity to join our Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team (SPCMHT) in a CQC “Outstanding” service.
The role involves working within a multidisciplinary service that collaborates with Maternity Services, Health Visiting, Adult Mental Health Services and the Reproductive Trauma Service. The successful candidate will meet the travel requirements for the role.
Responsibilities
* Provide CBT‑based assessment, treatment and support to women, their babies and families during the perinatal period (conception to two years).
* Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, coordinating care and sharing information with partner agencies.
* Plan, prioritise and organise caseload and treatment programmes, including research activity.
* Communicate effectively with the broader network around women and their families in the perinatal period.
Person Specification / Qualifications
* Essential qualifications: BSc/BA Honours degree in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, OT, or other suitable mental health or Social Work qualification; Further training and accredited CBT qualification; BABCP accreditation as a CBT Therapist.
* Essential knowledge: Specialist knowledge of therapies and approaches applicable to adults with moderate to severe mental health problems.
* Essential experience: Work experience in a severe and enduring mental health service, IAPT service or equivalent.
* Essential skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own caseload; Strong communication skills with the network around women and families during the perinatal period.
