Why this job matters
Being involved in any programme is special; however, working on a programme delivering within one of the largest capital expenditure portfolios in the county has something a little bit extra. BT/EE is a major supplier to the Emergency Services Network (ESN), which plans to replace the current Airwave service used by the emergency services of Great Britain. The move to ESN will enable a transformation in how the emergency services operate, especially on the front line. As such, this is a strategic priority for BT and reinforces our commitment to connect for good and serve the emergency services with a world‑class network.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Develop and maintain project management standards and processes based on BT Group’s unified methodology to ensure compliance and effective governance.
* Support the Programme Director in creating and managing the programme and project structure, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and prioritisation across the organisation.
* Manage financial and KPI information for the Programme, working with the commercial team to keep costs in line with expectations.
* Identify and manage dependencies, risks and issues, develop mitigations and ensure appropriate reporting.
* Provide regular status updates to the executive board and senior management, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and any issues that may impact delivery.
* Develop and mentor as required, improving people’s abilities, sharing knowledge and best practices, continuously improving delivery efficiency and effectiveness, and leading 2 direct reports supporting the programme.
* Understand and manage Jira and its configurations to execute day‑to‑day activities for the Programme.
