NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a shift pattern of 5/7.
Knowledge, Training, and Experience Required:
The successful candidate will work within surgical and critical care wards, supporting early interventions, specialist treatments, advice, and discharge planning. Collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the multidisciplinary team is essential. The role requires autonomy, with escalation or review for complex cases.
Candidates should be flexible, innovative, and team-oriented, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A commitment to service development and high-quality patient care is important.
Qualifications required include SVQ 3, HNC, or equivalent experience. The ability to work with individuals with diverse health issues and communication barriers is essential. Experience in surgical, high dependency, or intensive care environments is desirable. Digital literacy and a current driving license are advantageous. The role may require flexible clinical cover across Clyde and involves PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland checks.
