We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Services as a Waste Collections Manager. We are looking for someone who: Has substantial operational management experience within waste services or a similar operational environment. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate frontline teams. Can analyse and interpret operational data to drive performance improvements. Understands relevant legislation, health & safety practices, and compliance requirements. Thrives in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and prioritisation are key. Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Is committed to delivering excellent public services that support community wellbeing and environmental sustainability. A relevant qualification in waste management, operations management, or equivalent experience is desirable. To be successful in this role you need a full UK driving license. You will have a responsibility for: Lead, manage, and develop the Waste Collection operational teams to ensure the effective delivery of all collection’s services. Oversee daily operational planning, including route optimisation, staff deployment, and service monitoring. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including health and safety, environmental regulations, and statutory waste duties. Drive service improvements, efficiency savings, and innovation in waste collection methods. Manage performance, budgets, fleet resources, and operational data to support decision-making. Work collaboratively with internal partners, external contractors, residents, and community groups. Respond effectively to service issues, complaints, and operational disruptions.
