Job Title: Technical Business Analyst – Software Rationalisation and Packaging Summary: Part of Windows 10 to 11 programme of work we are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Business Analyst to support our software rationalisation and packaging initiatives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing current software usage, identifying opportunities for consolidation, and collaborating with IT and packaging teams to streamline application portfolios for efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. An ideal candidate must have STRONG analytical skills including being highly proficient in data analysis using Excel and other technologies. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed assessments of existing software inventories across business units. Gather and validate business and technical requirements for application usage, dependencies, and future needs. Identify opportunities for software rationalisation, standardisation, version unification, and decommissioning. Work closely with software packaging and deployment teams to prioritize, schedule, and track packaging activities. Liaise with vendors and procurement to support license optimisation and contract rationalisation. Create and maintain documentation including business cases, software catalogues, technical specifications, and migration plans. Assist with UAT planning and stakeholder communication to ensure minimal disruption during transitions. Support compliance with security, licensing, and regulatory requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong background in IT business analysis, with a focus on software lifecycle management. Experience in software discovery, rationalisation, and packaging projects in medium to large enterprises. Familiarity with application packaging tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, AdminStudio) and software deployment processes. Working knowledge of enterprise architecture, software licensing, and asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera). Excellent stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and documentation skills. Strong analytical mindset with a methodical approach to data analysis and reporting. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, ITIL, TOGAF) are a plus.
