EP Group Machine Operator - Night Shift EP Group is an award winning, global packaging manufacturer with production facilities across Europe and South East Asia. Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs. We are now seeking a Machine Operator to be based at our manufacturing facility here in Birmingham. The purpose of the role is to operate paper bag machines, ensuring all safety aspects are adhered to at all times with completion of documentation in detail. The role demands a full understanding of production practices and to optimise efficiencies and operations to successfully achieve all targets. Key Responsibilities - Machine Operator Operate machines safely and effectively, in line with standard operating procedures and in accordance with training Ensuring quality standards are met and all required checks are completed Some heavy lifting involved, which must be carried out in accordance with the relevant manual handling training procedures Meet production targets Supporting assembly / changing paper reels Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business Maintain the required standards of housekeeping Liaise with Supervisor to establish requirements Optimise output to achieve specific speed targets that have been set Other ad hoc duties as advised by Production Supervisor Key Requirements Machine Operator Self-motivated with exceptional time keeping Ability to work alone, and equally proficient at working with team members Previous experience of working in similar production environment with similar role responsibilities is desirable A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and production technology Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working towards deadlines and targets Knowledge of paper bag machines, material and various styles of bags would be beneficial.
