Are you a qualified finance professional looking for an opportunity where your expertise can make a real impact? A public sector organisation is seeking a Finance Manager to join their corporate directorate team for a 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, contribute to strategic financial planning, and support key projects.
Finance Manager (6-Month Contract)
Location : Edinburgh - Hybrid Working Available
Salary : Up to £55,000 - Depending on experience and qualifications
Hours : Full-time, 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial management activities including monthly variance reports, forecasts, and annual planning
* Provide financial insight and support to senior managers and directors
* Manage month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
* Prepare year-end financial submissions for inclusion in annual reports
* Support the development of business cases and financial plans aligned with strategic goals
* Monitor financial aspects of major projects and programmes
* Mentor junior finance staff and deliver finance training across teams
Skills Required
* Accountancy qualification (or in final stages)
* Strong experience in financial management, planning, and reporting
* Proficient in budget setting, variance analysis, and reconciliations
* Skilled in interpreting financial data to support decision-making
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
* Confident in training and mentoring finance and non-finance colleagues
