An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the admin team in Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon on a Fixed Term, 15-hour part time contract for two days on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
We are looking for enthusiastic, confident, experienced and self-motivated individuals. Ability to take own initiative and prioritising own tasks in complex situations and to meet multiple deadlines. Calm, discreet, confidential, sensitive approach to dealing with patients. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a calm and pleasant manner, be well organised and able to work on your own initiative. You will have a good educational background with 3 Credit Standard Grades which must include English and either Secretarial Studies or equivalent. Knowledge of a range of secretarial procedures, 2 years secretarial experience including word processing in any office environment is essential. Medical Secretarial Diploma/BSMSA Certificate in Medical Secretarial Studies /Previous NHS secretarial experience Medical Terminology Certificate desirable RSA Stage 2 or 3 or equivalent experience (a minimum speed of 60 wpm).
Induction, training, support and supervision will be provided. This post is on a fixed term basis and is expected to be reviewed on 3rd August 2027.
