Payroll Processor – Part-Time (16 hours per week)

Our client, a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice based in Rugeley, is seeking an experienced Payroll Processor to take ownership of their clients’ payroll operations. This is a part-time role (16 hours per week), offering flexibility and a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and professional team.
The successful candidate will manage a range of weekly and monthly payrolls across a varied client base, ensuring accurate and compliant processing, as well as delivering outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish for multiple clients
* Ensure timely submission of RTI returns to HMRC
* Administer statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and other relevant deductions
* Manage auto-enrolment and pension contributions, liaising with providers as needed
* Maintain accurate payroll records in line with current legislation
* Handle year-end duties including P60s and P11Ds
* Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related client queries
* Support with ad hoc tasks and internal payroll improvements
Candidate Profile:
* Previous experience in a payroll position, ideally within a practice or bureau environment
* Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation
* Proficiency in payroll software
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach
