GSL Education are currently seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rotherham. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, self-confidence, and personal growth. Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills through structured interventions and daily routines. Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teachers and pastoral staff. Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience and self-regulation in pupils. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs. A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to managing challenging situations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
