We would like to invite suitable candidates for a Clinical Fellow vacancy in Dermatology. This is a full-time, one-year post to replace an existing position.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain Dermatology experience prior to ST3 application.
The post holder will join the Dermatology team and work with a dynamic team of four Consultants, a registrar, a CT2, and experienced nursing staff in an outpatient setting. There will be opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of general dermatology clinics, and, together with the registrar, the successful candidate will also see ward and GP referrals under close supervision with the Consultants.
Northampton General Hospital is a busy District General Hospital with a full range of medical specialties. The Dermatology department offers subspecialty clinics including Skin Surgery, Contact Dermatitis, Paediatrics, Leg Ulcers, Photodynamic Therapy, and Vulval clinics. The department also has facilities for phototherapy and is supported by a dedicated nursing team. Training in surgery and biopsy procedures will be provided.
Successful candidates are encouraged to participate in regular local academic sessions, including a monthly Oxford Clinical meeting. There will also be teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors from other specialties.

Main duties of the job
The appointed candidate will support the existing dermatology team in providing general dermatological services at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. This includes assisting Consultants and the registrar in outpatient clinics, supporting CT1 and nursing staff, and seeing patients on the ward. There is no on-call commitment for general medical services.
The Trust aims to become a District General Hospital (+), involving teaching medical students from Leicester and Oxford. The role emphasizes education, and the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in teaching activities.
