Vickerstock are working in partnership with a specialist construction firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Advisor. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will work with the HSQE and Site teams to ensure all site personnel adhere to Safe Systems of Work, comply with relevant legislation, and follow established safety policies. In your new role: Conduct regular risk evaluationsDevelop safe operational procedures that account for all relevant hazardsEnsure all work practices are safe and in compliance with regulationsOversee safety inspections, report fire drills and fire alarms, manage risk assessments and lone working protocols, and ensure employees understand their responsibilitiesConduct new employee inductions in the officeAttend meetings as needed to report on health and safety issuesCommunicate with external health and safety authoritiesVerify that all personnel on our sites, in the office, or in the workshop have the appropriate certifications/cards for site access and their rolesImplement a comprehensive schedule of documented health and safety inspections, audits, and checksEnsure the Company fulfils its legal obligations regarding health, safety, and welfare at workStay informed about new legislation and maintain knowledge of all health and safety laws and industry developmentsEnsure safe installation of equipmentDocument incidents and accidents and generate reports for managementManage the safe disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestosProvide guidance on specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous materials, noise, and machineryProcure all necessary PPE and health and safety equipment for the companyContinuously review and update H&S policies and procedures, implementing changes as necessary and communicating them to all stakeholders What you will need to succeed: NEBOSH CertificationHealth and Safety experience in a similar position - ideally within the Construction / Fit Out industryExperience of handling H&S investigations and providing advice to managementA proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situations and duties - regular travel will be requiredAbility to communicate effectively (written and verbal)High attention to detailIT skills - particularly Microsoft Office Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): Member of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) preferredCSCS Card For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis today.Skills:Health and Safety SHEQ Fit Out IOSH CSCS Construction NEBOSHBenefits:Full range of benefitsWHJS1_NI
