Livewell Southwestis pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant inRehabilitation Medicine with a special interest in Stroke to joinour dynamic and evolving multidisciplinary team at Mount Gould Hospital.
This is a key leadership role within our stroke rehabilitation pathway, offering a diverse and rewarding mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation.
* Standard job plan:7.5 DCC : 2.5 SPA
* Additional opportunities in medical education, spasticity management, and outpatient rehabilitation services.
What Were Looking For:
* Full GMC Registration, with a licence to practise
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register inRehabilitation Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT)
* A collaborative, MDT-focused approach and confidence working outside of acute hospital settings
* A passion for supporting people with complex rehabilitation needs

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will:
* Act as Lead Clinician for the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit
* Provide cross-cover for the PlymNeuro Rehabilitation Unit
* Deliver outpatient care through clinics and domiciliary visits
* Have the opportunity to join the baclofen pump clinic rota, interventional clinics, or support the neuro-community team
* Play an active role in clinical governance acrossthe stroke pathway
You will be supported by a team of four Rehabilitation Medicine Consultants (two based at Mount Gould and two at University Hospitals Plymouth), with cross-cover primarily provided by colleagues at Mount Gould.
We are also exploring a rotational model across stroke, neurorehabilitation, and community services to enhance consultant leadership and exposure across settings. Applicants are welcome to express interest in this model.

Person Specification
Experience
* Training and wide experience in the field of rehab medicine.
* Secure background general medicine experience and competency to manage on-call emergencies at senior level (if on-call).
* Experience of working with managers to improve patient experience and service delivery.
* Ability to manage limb spasticity with botulinum toxin injections.
* A special interest or advanced experience in prosthetics, major trauma.
* Knowledge and understanding of the NHS.
* Evidence of service development and enacting change.
* Ability to lead clinical services.
Qualifications
* MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Stroke Medicine at the time of taking up the post (Specialist Registrars applying advance must be within six months of their CCT at the point of being interviewed).
* Higher Qualification in Stroke.
* Qualification in Teaching and Learning.
