Overview
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant Radiologist with a particular interest in MSK imaging. The successful candidate will participate in sub-specialty MDTs, contribute to the general diagnostic work of the department, and provide general diagnostic radiology on call. Home workstations are provided for protected daytime reporting, flexible working, and remote review of on-call imaging. Consultants are expected to provide prospective cover for annual and study leaves. Primarily based at Bury, Oldham, and Rochdale, with a day/week of activity at Salford Royal Hospital. The post holder will work closely with other consultants and the wider multi-disciplinary team to support and develop services.
Main duties
The successful candidate would participate in MDTs and contribute to the general work of the department, including general diagnostic radiology on call. The NCA Group model provides a shared governance framework to reduce variations in clinical practice, accelerate improvements in patient outcomes, and improve productivity. The role aims to deliver a high quality radiology service by recruiting and retaining motivated staff, with flexible job planning including home reporting.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified Radiologist
* MBBS/MBChB and FRCR or equivalent
Professional Registration
* Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
* Completion of a radiology training scheme with sound knowledge of general radiology and higher training in MSK radiology
Desirable
* Dedicated MSK radiology fellowship
* Evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* The successful candidate will be a radiologist with a particular interest in MSK
Skills & Abilities
* Working in a team/MDT
* Good communication skills
* Independent in reporting MSK studies in acute and outpatient settings
* Image-guided steroid injections/soft tissue biopsy/aspiration
* CT-guided bone biopsies
