Position: Offshore Technician (Fixed-term contract of 20 months, start ASAP)
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Technician to join our dynamic service team at Rhyl Flats Windfarm, located on the North Wales Coast. The windfarm comprises 25 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines, with the O&M base situated in Mostyn, North Wales.
About the role
The key responsibilities include:
1. Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing on wind turbines.
2. Work collaboratively in a small team with minimal supervision.
3. Communicate WTG defects to onsite supervisors and engineering teams.
4. Maintain electronic records of all maintenance work.
5. Identify and take ownership of tasks to improve safety and turbine performance.
6. Promote safety leadership and uphold HSE culture, including incident reporting.
7. Coordinate with other field teams, technical/engineering functions, supervisors, and lead technicians.
8. Operate under Wind Turbine Safety Rules as an Authorised and Competent Technician.
Job requirements and experience
Candidates should have:
1. Experience as a Technician under RWE Wind Turbine Safety Rules; being an Authorised Technician is desirable.
2. Experience in wind turbine O&M or commissioning, preferably with Siemens 3.6 WTG.
3. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
4. A solid understanding of HSSE systems for safe work environments.
5. Skills in mechanical, electrical, power electronics, and hydraulic troubleshooting and maintenance.
6. Competency as a slinger and banksman.
7. Knowledge of safety rules systems in WTSR and HV.
8. Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
9. Flexibility to work varied hours and willingness to travel for training.
Shift pattern: 7 days on, 7 days off; hours vary with tide times.
