Head of Finance - Not-for-Profit | Bristol | Interim

The role offers up to £420 per day (Inside IR35) with the possibility of the offer of a permanent role.

How You'll Make an Impact
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee financial operations, ensuring the organisation remains financially robust and well-positioned for the future. This is a hands-on role with a strategic outlook, balancing financial management with commercial thinking.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure long-term stability.
Oversee cash flow, treasury management, and financial controls.
Provide financial insight to support decision-making at senior leadership level.
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and regulatory requirements.
Manage external relationships, including auditors, funders, and key stakeholders.
Develop financial reporting and analytics to improve transparency and efficiency.
Support tendering processes and contract management to ensure financial viability.
Work collaboratively with operational teams to optimise cost structures and financial performance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation and system enhancements.

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
Experience gained in the private sector

Hands-on financial management experience, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
Experience with contract management, funding models, or public sector finance is desirable.
Commercially minded with an ability to think strategically while remaining detail-oriented.
Strong people skills with a collaborative and supportive leadership approach.
IT/ERP systems experience (e.g., Dynamics 365) is an advantage.
