The Senior Social Worker will join a Child Protection team on a short-term maternity cover assignment. You will manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection plans and pre-proceedings work, ensuring timely, robust interventions that safeguard children and support families. This role requires strong assessment skills, confident decision-making, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced statutory environment.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of Child Protection and pre-proceedings cases.
* Complete high-quality assessments, plans, and reports in line with statutory requirements.
* Lead on safeguarding interventions, ensuring timely and proportionate action.
* Work closely with multi-agency partners to support effective risk management.
* Prepare documentation for legal processes and attend relevant meetings.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records.
* Contribute to team development and uphold the Trust's practice standards.
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with registration.
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualifying experience in Child Protection or statutory safeguarding.
* Strong understanding of pre-proceedings processes and risk assessment.
* Confident communicator with excellent report-writing skills.
* Ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to provide required compliance documentation.
