Quantity Surveyors will have full accountability for their own work packages or projects and continue to work collaboratively with our clients and industry specialists with a firm focus on added value, compliance, commercial viability, and best practiceThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years experience in the construction industry, projects will see you in the retail world, ranging from refurb, newbuild, cut and carve and fitout.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and maintain close relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors to improve the customer experience continuously and support future repeat and negotiated business.To take active responsibility for all financial procedures in conjunction with the Senior Surveyor.To suggest trade contractors, systems and manufacturers for team appraisal. Provide feedback to trade contractors on completionBe aware of element costings and costs/ft2.Develop initial project budget and agree detailed cost plan with the Senior Surveyor for agreement with the professional team.To assist in managing all cost control aspects of the project(s), ensuring the use of appropriate cost, reporting systems.Advise on product selection, specifications and assist with value engineering exercisesMonitor the information flow both to and from ISG to ensure that work undertaken is fully authorised at all times.Attend and if necessary, chair meetings with the design team and with works contractors.Prepare ‘rolling’ final account throughout project and agree at PCClose out financial account and retention releasesPrepare final account reconciliation (CVR), create regular budget and price updates, update computerised cost control system and prepare the monthly cost and progress report for Interior directors responsibleInternal reporting via billing monitors, MCR’s and interim CVR’sSkills & experienceSubstantial experience within the construction industryGood Understanding of JCT forms of contract & Contract lawGood knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packagesGood verbal and written communication skills
