About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. You will actively embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you're not out on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the shop's efficient and friendly operation.
Note: You need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day in store, checking your delivery routes.
* Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
* Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and adhere to health and safety standards.
* Represent the Waitrose brand on the road, prioritizing excellent customer service.
* Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Valid UK manual driving licence (category B) with no more than 6 points.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
* Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable.
* IT literate.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
Part-time hours available, working Friday to Sunday between 0800 and 2200.
