Overview
Band 6 Occupational Therapist position within the Community Rehabilitation Service of North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The role operates from two community sites (Yew Tree Resource Centre, Romford and Porters Avenue Health Centre) and requires efficient travel across Havering, Barking and Dagenham.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients with stroke and neurological conditions, taking into account physical, cognitive and perceptual skills to identify abilities and areas of difficulty.
 * Lead and support junior staff and rehabilitation assistants through supervision, training and appraisal.
 * Deliver quality care via evidence‑based practice and adherence to national guidance.
 * Collaborate with the multidisciplinary Stroke and Neurology pathway and support community therapy colleagues.
Essential Criteria
 * Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.
 * Clinical expertise and experience in stroke and neurology; previous inpatient stroke rehab experience is an asset.
 * Proven ability to travel efficiently across Havering, Barking and Dagenham.
 * Team‑player with enthusiasm, flexibility and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This post is subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement
This post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941 per annum, pro‑rata for part‑time).
