Offer description

At Ofgem, we play a central role in the fight to shape a smarter, fairer, and greener energy future for Great Britain. We're now looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join us and drive forward high-impact projects that will help shape the future of our organisation and the UK energy system.

Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving towards Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people. We're offering a permanent position that places you at the strategic heart of Ofgem, delivering exciting, intellectually demanding work with visibility across the organisation. Working within a close-knit and high-performing team, this role gives you the platform to influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation. You'll shape cross‑cutting strategies, analyse sector-wide challenges, and help steer the regulator's response to some of the most significant questions facing the energy system today.

This is a high‑agency, fast‑paced role that offers real breadth. You'll work directly with senior leaders and external stakeholders across government, industry and academia, helping turn strategic insight into action. It's an opportunity to combine rigorous thinking with creative problem‑solving and to develop recommendations that will impact Ofgem's direction for years to come.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent judgement and the ability to build collaborative relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. You'll bring a strategic mindset, a keen interest in solving complex policy challenges, and the confidence to deliver in a fast‑paced, highly visible environment.

In return, you'll join a forward‑thinking, inclusive organisation that values insight, care and curiosity. You'll benefit from flexible working options, excellent Civil Service pension arrangements, and the opportunity to influence decisions that help deliver a smarter, more secure and sustainable energy system.

Our Strategy, Economics, Research and Net Zero department has a critical purpose to lead strategic thinking and drive alignment and engagement with the energy sector, shaping how our organisation responds to complex, long‑term challenges. This is your opportunity to join the team guiding those decisions and make a meaningful impact on the future of energy in Great Britain.
