Position overview:
We seek a self-starter capable of developing new technology areas leveraging existing capabilities, including CO2 adsorption. Responsibilities include planning, procuring, and managing the construction of a laboratory in compliance with regulations. You will lead a team of civil engineers to apply cement and concrete chemistry knowledge for carbon capture and utilisation in concrete, and evaluate CCU techniques on the properties and long-term performance of cement-based materials.
Person specifications and responsibilities:
* Experience in independent research, designing, and conducting studies addressing fundamental scientific questions
* Experience in laboratory setup, HSE compliance, equipment specification, and procurement
* PhD in civil engineering or construction-related field
* Understanding of concrete mix design, characterisation, and relevant standards
* Experience in carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS)
